Sam Ospovat plays drums/percussion in Timosaurus, Blenderhead, Gene Baker’s R & B Free Jazz Gospel Supreme 80, Ton Trio, Kids and Hearts, and Beep. He has recorded for Tzadik, New Albion and Ghostly International among others, and plays or has played with Matt Nelson, Nate Brenner, Eric Vogler, Will Redmond, Lorin Benedict, Michael Coleman, Andrew Conklin, Aram Shelton, Kurt Kotheimer, Scott Rosenberg, Shayna Dunkelman, Quentin Sirjacq, Jordan Glenn, Rob Pumpelly, Ches Smith, Leo Smith, Cecil Taylor, Chris Brown, Graham Connah, and Willie Winant. Originally from Lincon, NE, Sam studied music at UC Santa Cruz and Mills College, and is working on his second bachelor’s in French at San Francisco State University. Sam also moonlights as an actor, most recently as Tom in “In Living English”, a 20-episode sit-com for Cl@se, an educational Latin American cable channel based in Florida.
