המחשבה על יצירה שהיא יומן מלווה אותי כבר מספר שנים. מאז ומתמיד אני נוהגת להשתמש בסביבה הקרובה ביותר כלומר בבית ובכל הקשור איליו, ובשגרת היומיום, כמאגר לחומרי גלם, או כחומר הגלם העיקרי שלי ליצירה.
זמן רב, התחבטתי בסוגיה כיצד יוצרים יומן במוסיקה כאשר מצד אחד מדובר בתיעוד של יומיום ומאידך במעקב אחר זרם אסוציאציות. אל הפתרון הגעתי עם רכישתו של טייפ DAT קטן אשר איפשר לי להשתמש בקולות הבית עצמם, ללא תרגום.
קבעתי נקודת התחלה – יום ראשון 27.1.02 והתחלתי בתיעוד.
החלטתי להקליט בכל יום מספר פעמים בזמנים קבועים, וכן, להקליט חדשות בבוקר ובערב, במטרה ליצור תחושה ברורה של מחזוריות. רציתי שאפשר יהיה לזהות את קולות הבוקר את אילו של הארוחות ואת מחזוריות הימים בשבוע. בעזרת הצלילים והקולות הללו, אני מבקשת ליצור תמונה ותחושה של עולם שלם אצל המאזין.
לא ידעתי מראש אם אקליט רק בבית או גם בחוץ, ומהר מאד הסתבר לי שאקליט רק בבית אם כי לא תמיד רק בביתי ואת חדירת העולם שבחוץ פנימה יציינו מהדורות חדשות יומיות. בסופו של דבר, הקלטתי בכל יום (כמעט) ולפי סדר זה, ארוחת בוקר, מבזק חדשות, ארוחת צהריים, ארוחת ערב, תחילת החדשות בטלוויזיה וסיפור לפני השינה שקראתי כמעט כל ערב לביתי רוני בת ה-9.
מלבד זאת נכללו גם כמה שיחות טלפון,פגישות קבועות עם חברים ועוד .
התמדתי בכך כחודש וחצי כלומר עד אמצע מרץ 2002 אולם מחמת הכמות העצומה של החומר כללתי בפסקול חמישה שבועות בלבד: 27/1/02/-3/3/02 .

A Diary
The idea of creating a diary using sound followed me for a long time
For quit a while I was wondering how to do it. How do you create a diary in music, in sound? I solved the problem by using a portable DAT recorder, recording and using sounds around me –home sounds, street sounds, people talking and also radio and T.V. sounds.
I decided to start on Sunday 27.1.2002 recording at home at certain points during the day: morning coffee with radio and newspaper, morning news on the radio, lunch, supper with my youngest daughter ,T.V. news and then myself reading her a goodnight story. Also there were phone calls, Friday night dinners, meeting with friends etc. I wished to create in the listener’s mind a picture of a whole, full world and document the way events from the outside penetrate the closed environment of home.
I continued recording till about the middle of March but while editing decided to finish on the 3.3.2002 morning news.
The duration of the whole Diary is 3:15 hours. I intended it to be presented as a sound installation. (It was already presented this way in Israel twice.)
It was also broadcast on “Kol Hamusica” The Israeli music channel.
