An abnormal phenomenon occurs in an olive grove as one of the trees evokes an uprising. As this spontaneous protest spreads, a police squad rallies through the landscape in an attempt to suppress the uprising. Inspired by the ancient olive harvesting methods in which aggression and cultivation come together, the film portrays the absurdity of enforced ideologies and the impossibility of taming the wild.

Chaja Hertog (1978) and Nir Nadler (1977) are a Dutch-Israeli artist-duo based in Amsterdam. Their collaborative work spans the spectrum of time-based disciplines from performance and spatial installation, to photography and film. The departure point for most of the duo’s work is the body, with its physicality, identity, violence, intimacy and the changes it undergoes through the passage of time. Apart from their partnership in art, Hertog and Nadler are also partners in life. Much like their different background, their work is an attempt to rework two ideas and approaches into a single vision with a dialectic value.
One of the duo’s main motivations in art practice is to develop the ability to re-look at something that is actually quite familiar, and to suggest an alternative point of view to it. Ultimately their work is about communicating and engaging with an audience, thus they try to make work that does not require any special dictionary in contemporary art. The ambition is each time to make a piece that can evoke an interesting conversation between the art critic and your next door neighbour, without neither of them being condescending to each other.
